CATCHING SCHOOL OVERVIEW
Catching is one of the most demanding and important positions on the field. Catchers are responsible for receiving, blocking, throwing, communicating, managing the game, and helping organize the defense around them.
Catching School provides athletes with consistent opportunities to develop the technical skills and understanding required to play the position with confidence. Training may include receiving, framing, blocking, throwing, footwork, mobility, game situations, communication, and the physical demands unique to catching.
Training is organized into six-week blocks throughout the year, following the local school calendar with scheduled breaks between sessions. While each training block has areas of emphasis, the program is intended to provide long-term development opportunities rather than cover every aspect of catching in a single six-week session.
As athletes continue participating, training groups naturally evolve to reflect the experience, progress, and stage of development of the catchers involved.

Catching School is designed to support athletes throughout their development at the position. Players can begin by learning the fundamentals of catching and progress into intermediate and advanced training as their skills, experience, and understanding of the game develop.
Baseball and softball catchers are welcome.
